Our membership experience provides elevated access to care, including extended communication with our team via phone, email, or text, as well as the convenience of secure virtual appointments. This ensures continuity, support, and guidance far beyond the traditional office visit.
Members also have access to a curated selection of supportive services that can be integrated as desired to complement their personalized plan. These offerings enhance the experience without being the central focus of care.

FAQ
Sanctum Med + Wellness is primarily membership-based, though select a la carte services are available. Dr. Shepherd’s practice is virtual only, with all medical visits conducted through our secure telemedicine platform, while her expert team is available on site to deliver exceptional care. We do not accept insurance directly, but some services may qualify for out-of-network reimbursement. Upon request after your visit, our team can provide an itemized statement for you to submit to your insurance. FSA and HSA funds may also be used when eligible. We encourage clients to confirm coverage with their insurance provider prior to scheduling.
Sanctum does not accept insurance and operates fully out of network, allowing for longer, more personalized visits without insurance constraints. Standard diagnostic tests—if ordered, such as diagnostic bloodwork—can still be billed to your insurance through the facilities where they are performed. Sanctum does not offer primary insurance billing.
No, in fact, we recommend that patients carry health insurance for services not covered under your membership, such as visits with specialists or hospitalization. Many patients pair their membership with higher deductible insurance plans to reduce their total annual out-of-pocket healthcare costs.

Here at Sanctum Med + Wellness, we understand that life may bring challenges and there may be times when you have to cancel your appointment. Cancellations must be made 24 hours in advance. If cancellation is not made within this time frame, patient will be charged a $50 processing fee prior to rebooking.
We offer a complimentary informational session with our sales receptionist to help you learn more about Dr. Shepherd’s approach and how Sanctum Med + Wellness supports our clients. At this time, Dr. Shepherd is unable to join these sessions due to her limited bandwidth and her virtual-only consultation schedule, but our team is fully equipped to answer any questions you may have about the practice and the services we provide.
